Introduction
Several years ago, my brother in Christ, introduced me to SHAWL—a sacred arts series by Carlos Walth. (https://mentoringsacredarts.com). Initially, I encountered it as a guide for discipleship. But over the years, as I've walked with it, prayed through it, and allowed its truths to sink deeper into my heart, I've come to understand the profound message woven throughout: SHAWL is far more than a program or study. It is a transformational lifestyle, rooted entirely in the life of Christ and the calling He extends to each of His disciples.
SHAWL invites us into five sacred postures of the heart:
Surrender
Releasing control and yielding fully to God's will
Humble
Embracing lowliness and dependence on Him
Abide
Remaining in Christ as the branch remains in the vine
Wait
Trusting in God's timing with patient expectation
Listen
Quieting our souls to hear His voice
These aren't merely spiritual disciplines to master—they are invitations into intimacy with the living God. Together, they form the fabric of a life hidden in Christ, a life wrapped in His presence.
As you step into this 365-day journey, my prayer for you is twofold: first, that you will be gently yet boldly stretched—drawn beyond the familiar, confronted by truths that transform, and invited ever deeper into the tender heart of Jesus. Second, that you will surrender each day to the Holy Spirit’s quiet, powerful work, allowing Him to shape your soul and guide your posture before God. May you come to know, in the depths of your being, what it truly means to have the holy presence of God enfold you, to feel His loving shawl wrap around you—until at last, you are fully “Wrapped in His Presence.”
May this year be one of profound encounters, lasting transformation, and deepening intimacy with the One who calls you His own.
May God richly bless you on this journey.
